Home occupations are allowed in Austin residential areas, but with conditions: no employees working on-site who don't live there, no customer traffic that disturbs the neighborhood, no exterior signage, and no outdoor storage of business materials.

What to do
No non-resident employees on site; no walk-in customer traffic.
No signs, no commercial vehicles parked visibly, no outdoor storage.
Some businesses (food prep, auto repair) need additional permits.
If neighbors can't tell it's a business, you're probably fine.
